The dogs from Maciuca enter Europe - taken from Viata-Vâlcii

The dogs from Maciuca enter Europe - taken from Viata-Vâlcii

Published: 10.02.2016

Given that, nationally, due to conditioning by law rabies vaccination (Free) by microchipping and registration of dog (cost borne by the owner), the rate of rabies vaccination of dogs with master decreased by over 70%, Hammer will be the first village the county where microchipping, registration and rabies vaccination will be made free for all dogs holder.

By nature geographical location, most of the county towns have nearby forest or other areas frequented by wild animals (especially foxes), which is a high risk concerning rabies - disease fatal in case of transmission to humans. This risk is doubled if nevaccinării dogs because they, coming into contact with infected animals can transmit the disease to man. Association "Electronic Register of Domestic Animals" Turda, in dialogue with partner Tasso e.V. Germany, signed a protocol with the City and "the veterinarian's office 112vet Hammer - Valcea", with the support of the Foundation Dumitru Drăghicescu and the Association "Second Chance" - Rm. Valcea, under which carries the month February 2016 a campaign registration microchipping and vaccination of stray dogs in the locality Hammer - jud. Valcea.

The action is free for citizens, saving them significant amounts of money. Campaign costs were borne entirely by R.E.A.D.C. Turda Association partner Tasso e.V. Germany, maneuvers being conducted by veterinarians "Hammer 112vet veterinarian's office - Valcea" - Dr. Adela BOTORANI and Dr. Valentin ANGHELOAIA coming to their aid Dimitrie Drăghicescu Association Foundation "Second Chance" and the Hammer Village Hall. R.E.A.D.C. provides citizens: microchipping free of dogs, a reflecting plate that mounts to the collar, which are written series and phone number of the plant permanent series of animal identification, membership card of the association with the data owner and the animal and permanent monitoring of the animal through the PBX.

In addition, they have been vaccinated, while also being the anti-rabies vaccination campaign according to the National Strategic Programme. At the same time, we conduct a campaign to educate students in grades I-IV, with the support "ABC Educational" edited and distributed for free. Students are informed of where to buy / adopt a pet, you need to consider before opting for a breed of dog, you should consult a veterinarian, how to care for pets, and what responsibilities have when owning a pet, both in terms of veterinary and administrative point of view. At the same time, we insist and the obligations they have during walks with the dogs. One purpose of these presentations is to inform students about rabies. Provide details about the disease and its risks, noting that it can be transmitted from animals to humans and warn students regarding the measures to be taken for their safety.

Also worth looking microchipping and registration obligation and vaccinate all stray dogs and the benefits of optical marking of the animals with the owner, and measures indicated for finding such an animal. An action of this kind was held in the Danube Delta, to this city, Sulina, C.A. Rosetti is ongoing in Samova and Nalbant. The campaign helped the tourists and the locals in common as stray dogs were not vaccinated many years, and the risk of infection with rabies (hydrophobia) is very high, constituting a major threat to public health. The first city where R.E.A.D.C. and offered free services was Campia Turzii, jud. Cluj. For three consecutive years, we have registered, microchipped and vaccinated all the stray dogs in the city.

As a result of this action, any dog registered in our database have been abandoned and thus reduced budget expenses allocated to shelters. Our activities have prevented its obligations under the law that requires microchipping animals and sterilizing dogs not race, otherwise they are liable heavy fines (400L / dog Necip / unvaccinated, reaching RON 5,000 for those with many dogs Necip / unvaccinated ).

In the future we intend to expand cooperation in this area and consider a sterilization campaign free mugs and cats bred common (a program similar to that carried out last summer in the city Babeni) as the solution to reduce the number of stray animals found in yard owners of dogs and cats, representing a continuous source of abandonment of unwanted deposit generations and generations.
