”The Electronic Register of Domestic Animals and Pets” Association, along with Tasso e.V. Germany, concluded the campaign of castration/sterilization of stray and domestic carnivorous in the territory of Sulina.
It is the third consecutive year in which, with the help of veterinarians, we havefulfilledFREE actions of informing citizens, microchipping,anti-rabies vaccination and deworming, of the domestic carnivorous fromSulina, and we are proud of this free campaign of castration/sterilizationsuccess, which we will continue the next year too.
In the five days of the campaign we managed to sterilize/castrate 102 animals (dogs and cats), of which the majority were taken off the streets.
Some of our "patients" ' we're about to give a better life and some loving and responsible owners.
On our principle: the sense of responsibility is formed from the early age, weorganized actions of informing the students from the town, providing them with leaflets with tips relating to the responsibility of keeping a pet. Informing is the basis, which is then supplemented with animal sterilization programs, whereas the financial possibilities of pet owners in the area are low.
Although the sterilization/castration campaign has completed, the identification, microchipping and anti-rabies vaccination one continues. We consider these activities as having particularimportance whereas, in the area, the number of jackals, animals that spread rabies, is growing, and the risk of infection is very high, representing a danger to public health and animal safety.
Campaign costs were borne by The Electronic Register of Domestic Animals and Pets Turda and Tasso e.V. Germany, the latter being the largest freeregistry of pet monitoring within the European Community.
We remind you that The Electronic Register of Domestic Animals and PetsTurda won a victory of huge importance in January this year, when the Constitutional Court has admitted the exception of unconstitutionality of art. 134 of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 155/2001, and decided that dog rabies vaccination should not be conditionedby their microchipping. Thus, all citizens can benefit from free rabies vaccine for their animals, without being conditioned by the payment of additional costs.
Moreover, in order to carry out our campaigns, our association has filed a lawsuit to the College of Veterinarians, relating to the aberrantconditions they imposed for the registration of a mobile clinic used for neutering animals with and without owners.
Our association has fought and will continue to fight against the abuses in the sanitary-veterinarysystem undermine the public health and animal welfare.
We thank the team of veterinarians led by dr. MirceaȘtefanache and especially to the Mayor of Sulina, NicolaeRăduș, who, even from our first campaign, has done everything possible to assure us all the necessary resources for carrying out the activities in good conditions.
We are glad that you have been with us all these years and we assure you that we will continue to strive to avoid uncontrolled breeding, abandonmentand their premature death, as well as killing of the unwanted puppies.
Animal rights without the owner rights is cynicism!
